Our Curriculum from Early Childhood to Middle School

At St. Mark’s Day School, our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to meet students where they are and guide them on a journey of intellectual and personal discovery. Each division builds upon the last, creating a seamless and supportive path from their first day of school to their last.

Early Childhood (Nursery – Kindergarten)

A World of Discovery

Our Early Childhood program is where the love of learning begins. Through a joyful, play-based curriculum, our youngest students explore the world around them, developing foundational skills in literacy and math while growing socially and emotionally. We nurture their natural curiosity in a safe and engaging environment, setting the stage for a lifetime of successful learning.

Elementary School (Grades 1-5)

Building Confident Learners

In our Elementary division, students transition from learning-to-read to reading-to-learn. The curriculum fosters intellectual curiosity and critical thinking through a challenging core academic program in English, math, science, and social studies. This is enriched by special subjects including foreign language, music, art, and religious studies, ensuring the development of the whole child.

Middle School (Grades 6-8)

Preparing for the Future

Middle School is a time of significant academic and personal growth. Our program prepares students for the rigors of high school by fostering intellectual independence and personal responsibility. Students engage with complex ideas, hone their analytical skills, and have the opportunity to earn high school credit by taking the NYC Regents exams in Algebra I (Common Core) and Living Environment, all within a supportive and dynamic community.
