Overview of the CurriculumThe curriculum at St. Mark's Day School is based on the New York State Education Standards and prepares students for all required New York State examinations. Its major goal is to provide a learning environment that nurtures the student's academic, spiritual, moral, social, cutural, physical and mental growth, thus equipping them with the necessities for good citizenship, employment and life-long learning. The objectives of the curriculum are: 1. to promote a healthy partnership among the school, home and community. The curriculum consists of eleven (11) mandatory subject areas and cross curriculum instruction is encouraged: 1. Language Arts Extra-Curricular Activites Here at St. Mark's Day School, we take the conection between academic work and recreational activities as critical for our students' growth and development. With this is mind we are constantly integrating new and exciting activities and programs to challenge and enrich our curriculum. This year our extra-curricular activities will include School Choir and classes in French, Dance, Tennis and Karate. |
