Parent LettersMarch 15, 2007
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Here is a great advice for all of us “No one can ever gain strength by brooding over his weakness.” So how is your Lenten journey going so far? I trust you have made time during these forty days to spend some time in church. I strongly believe that this season should be used to contemplate our self-discipline, areas in our lives that need addressing as well as relationships that perhaps need some mending. Please do not let this season go by without some “auditing” of your life. It would be nice to see some of you in church this Sunday. Take the children along, drop them off at Sunday School and come over to St. Mark’s and worship with us. Too many children are spending their Sundays watching television or just lazing around the home. I know many of you have very busy schedules, but there is no reason why you cannot take the children to Sunday School. Let them learn about some of the Christian virtues that you and I as children were taught. In addition to learning Christian virtues, your children will be around similar children and therefore form positive relationships. I still have fond memories of my Sunday school teacher and all the fun things we did. I actually still have very close friends from my Sunday School days. Every now and then we remind ourselves about those bible stories that were told to us as children. It’s fun to listen to our children talk about their Sunday school experience. Read more of the March 15th letter.
